Medo~ our beloved Bear

When Medo lived in Croatia

Bear has found a new home with us in Colorado.
A gift from a friend we met in Split, Croatia
~
Read about the origin of the bear here.

Thanks Pim! and don't worry Medo is in good hands
and soon
he will be going on vacation to Disneyland!
In a few weeks we'll be traveling to California to meet the other medo (Winnie the Pooh) and Mickey too.

Pears with chocolate and other recipes

So back in November 2010 I wrote about my talented friend and her beautiful cakes she baked
for her 3 year old daughter.

Well, as of last month she has her own blog, Love Affair and she already has over 30 recipes!

Her recipes are in Croatian, although a few are translated.

Hope you enjoy her beautiful photography as well.

Do stop and say hello!

Children are~

Amazing, acknowledge them.
Believable, trust them.
Childlike, allow them.
Divine, honor them.
Energetic, nourish them.
Fallible, embrace them.
Gifts, treasure them.
Here now, be with them.
Innocent, delight with them.
Joyful, appreciate them.
Kindhearted, learn from them.
Lovable, cherish them.
Magical, fly with them.
Noble, esteem them.
Open-minded, respect them.
Precious, value them.
Questioners, encourage them.
Resourceful, support them.
Spontaneous, enjoy them.
Talented, believe in them.
Unique, affirm them.
Vulnerable, protect them.
Whole, recognize them.
Xtraspecial, celebrate them.
Yearning, notice them.
Zany, laugh with them.

A Museum Outdoors

After celebrating Mother's Day last Sunday we drove next to a beautiful park, Samson Park and stopped to say  "hi" to the puppy.

Samson Park is an extension of the Museum of Outdoor Arts Admission to the museum is free! When we arrived the park was getting ready for a concert that evening and they had the sidewalk blocked so I was not able to get too close to the sculptures (to take better pictures) but  we were close enough to admire the beautiful outdoor gallery. There were many Alice in Wonderland theme pieces.

 A mad tea party.

The queen of hearts looks kinda scary hu?

But wait there's more!

This is the Willow Flower (Weindenblume) created by German atelier Sanfte Strukturen. It's a permanent, living willow sculpture.

At the top of the dome, can you see the two mosaic birds? They are Lark Buntings, representing Colorado's state bird.. ( I had not idea, so it was interesting to learn something new!)

And we concluded the tour at the Greenwood Plaza

Of One Heart
The Fence

Look at that!

From April to May~ updates

It has been a busy time since our return from Iowa!
Since the mid week in March we put an offer to buy a property and four days before the end of April we finally had the approval from the bank for our loan. This meant: four days to move out of our apt, clean, pack and I was working the whole time! Hubby did most of the cleaning and taking care of  Beli.  I'm a lucky person. We moved in to an apt with no furniture and slowly we have been unpacking and buying appliances.

On the second day at our new place, we had visitors! I heard a knock on our door and a neighbor came to tell us that the unit next to us was on fire! I panicked. I was alone with Beli and we rushed out of the house to soon learn that it was only the dryer that was on fire. What a relief! No one was hurt.  We returned to our home and there was no damage to our place, just the smoky smell!
Beli started gymnastics and she loves it!
  Beautiful view of the Rockies.
 Beli loves her 'new home'.

Our weekend project: to get started on building a small planter box for a small garden. After visiting the farmer's market last Sunday we decided that we really wanted fresh produce in our back yard.

Happy Mother's Day~ gift from Beli. I'm so proud of her,  she wrote her name all on her own.

A new neighbor. Saw him this morning as I was leaving to my first training.
I've signed up to run a marathon on September 22, 2012.
I know, I'm crazy!
I've created a link here if you are interested to read how I'm doing!
I can use your support and words of encouragement.

Our meeting point before running our first 5K.

Beli received a package today from Croatia.
Baki sent over lots of goodies.
How we miss her! But she is doing a great job taking care of my Father-in-law. His recovery is going well.
And we are so grateful.

Well, I think that's all for now!
.......
Have a wonderful weekend.
Now that we finally have Internet service I shall be writing on a more regular basis.
I've missed this place.
How is everyone doing?
