A pedicure spa at the beach

Why should you go to the beach and get a pedicure?

1. it's fun
2. it's relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves rolling in and out
3. amazing view of the open sea and boats passing by
4. you are getting a dose of vitamin D by exposing your toes to the sun
5. it's free

What other reasons would you list? I hope you are enjoying this beautiful weekend! Our mornings here are cool then in the afternoon it gets warm enough to go barefoot along the beach.

On windy days

Earlier this week we woke up to the sound of roaring waves. The previous day had rained and now it looked like it would be another cold and breezy day. I walked to the balcony ( to determine if I needed to wear short or long sleeves, it was cold, so long sleeves it was) and then I saw in the distance what looked like a kite.

I bundled Beli up and we went to see up close what was flying in the distance. But on our way we saw a large group of seagulls.

The seagulls were unaware that a toddler was soon approaching and would disturb their peaceful rest.
Beli ran after them and off they went, flying away.I picked her up and took a self-portrait picture. I didn't realize that Beli was looking up at the seagulls. (I just love her excitement!)

We continued walking until we were close to the shore and saw a couple of guys kite surfing.

It looked so easy but I'm sure it takes lots of practice to do this jump. Now, I don't know if I would try this, I would probably fall flat on my face! We then headed home to tell hubby all about our adventures with the seagulls and the kites.

Is it always sunny in Croatia?

Living along the Adriatic coast we are blessed with the typical Mediterranean climate: warm summers and mild winters. But if you live further inland like the capital city of Zagreb then you will experience a Continental climate. This week has been hot but not enough to prevent me from joining my friends for our usual Thursday's 10K walk.

"I just love this garden! Look at the sunflowers welcoming another beautiful day," I told my friend Gen. She agreed, and of course I had to take a picture and share it with you today.

In the afternoon, Beli and I went to one of the beaches in Znjan which happen to be undergoing major renovation to welcome tourists and guests from the new four star hotel Radisson Blu. Do you see it with all the glass windows? Apparently every room has a view of the Sea.

And to the left is a view of our neighborhood Znjan. I love how the buildings appear like small towers in the background.

And another week behind us. What do you have planned for your weekend? I will try to catch up on some reading. I've been reading The Angel's Game by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, have you heard of him? He is from Spain and the original book was written in Spanish and don't ask me why, but I seem to enjoy reading the English version better. Hmmmm, maybe I'm more American than I want to acknowledge?? Hope you all enjoy another sunny August day.
