Lavender from Croatia

We have started discussing
when Baki will be
visiting us.
It's been almost a year and a half
since we left Croatia,
that's a long time for
My Mother-in-law
not see her only
granddaughter.

 I have to start
practicing
my Croatian
again.

so I
may be absent
for a few days.
I'll be
studying
working
packing
studying
cleaning
studying
decorating
and
buying furniture for our new apt
all
in the next 20 days!
BUT
I'm happy!
.
.
Tell me,are you a fan of lavender?

I've never used it to cook or bake have you?
I wouldn't mind trying this recipe
or how about this bread pudding?

  1. I've never used lavender for cooking and baking, either, but I love the scent! I'm planning on growing it myself this spring, I hope I can.

Wow, you have a lot to do in a short period of time! Remember to relax a little, too! :)

  2. I kinda like the way lavender smells...until I start sneezing uncontrollably!! LOL I know people who use lavender oil in their baths, and in their pillows at night to relax. Eating it in a recipe never even occurred to me..but of course, with my allergies, I wouldn't!! ^_^ Happy apartment furniture shopping!

  4. Others may think lavender is for cooking, I don't !
You may try to add a tiny (tiny) bit to a salad or a roast, still the taste and smell are very overwhelming, so better don't !
Rosemary and thyme are a bit the same, with rather heavy effects to the taste, but they work, if used with care.
Lavender however is a bit over the top, and better used in your bath of between clothes when stored.
(But even than you smell like grannies do, so be careful with it).

    PS:
One of the main ingredients for good old Boldoot's Eau de Cologne is lavender, the other of course is alcohol.
Great stuff to hide your getting "old".
