Dancing in the rain with Cubismo and walking in the city

Yesterday it rained.... all day long. I think it rained everywhere, right? So what did Beli and I do you may ask? We danced to Salsa music playing from our radio. It was a mixture of Spanish and Croatian lyrics! You can listen to some of their songs here and here. This music is contagious! I asked hubby and he said the band is called Cubismo. I'm a new fan!

This morning we were rewarded with a sunny and dry day, at least until noon! I hurried downtown and walked around the city to take some photos before the rain returned. Then back home for more salsa dancing!

Discussing how nice the weather is. Not knowing that rain would make it's appearance in a few hours.

Oh no, where is the sun? I got soaked on my way to the bus stop. Forgot my umbrella at home. Don't you hate when that happens?

What do you like to do on a rainy day?

  1. Is that blue/purple flower a clematis? When we lived in Charleston, S.C., the clematis bloomed in February. Here, they bloom in June and for the rest of the summer. Right now, nothing is blooming but, like in Croatia, it is raining. The rain has melted all the dirty snow. Hoorah! Great photos from your day out.

  2. Love the pictures!

Our kids love playing hide and seek when indoors and we want to run around a little bit. Another favorite is also to dance to whatever music is on the radio and dancing with the Wiggles.

  4. Lovely pictures! Wouldn't have known it was raining, in the earlier shots.

What do I do on a rainy day? I stay in. Heck, I stay in rain or shine. I really need to get out more.

  5. Bonnie, I'm not sure what type of flower is, but next time I'm out, I will take a close-up photo. I thought it was so pretty wrapped around the tree.

  7. @Juanita, It wasn't raining in the earlier pictures, it was after visiting the market, that the rain began to "sprinkle".

I too prefer to be indoors when it's raining.

  8. HT,
I think dancing is a great activity to do with you kid(s) regardless of age, and it's fun!

  9. I guess I am to much a Dutchman (constructed like a wooden shoe) to dance, even better (or worse) I hate to dance.

No, don't try to drag me to the dancefloor, because I react like a magarac (donkey).

More my style is to enjoy every type of weather, being rain, snow, wind or sun.
So on a rainy day I do whatever I like to do, in or out.

And by the way, Splitska Riva (the boulevard) is still horrible to see with those strange steel structures.
Come on mr. Kerum, be THE man to change it back to "those happier days".

  10. Pim, so you are one of the people that dislikes the new look, I read about the controversy the new construction had amongst the citizens of the city. I like it either way but then again I can't remember the way it was before since I only visited Split a few times in the past, before the construction.

I moved back to the states around Christmas. I miss the ocean and island weather but I like all the new opportunities here in the states too. It's good to be near family again.
