An orange a day

These past few days, hubby and I have been nursing a bad cold. I guess instead of admiring the orange trees during our recent trip, we should have been keeping up with our daily dose of vitamin c! Although I'm not very fond of honey I don't mind adding a teaspoon to my cup of tea. Do you have any home-remedies for treating a cold?

  1. Oh no, feel better soon! I do love a bit of honey and lemon to tea when I'm feeling blah. I also tried the gargling-with-salt-water route, switching over to garling-with-Listerine later (the Listerine seemed to help most!).

The orange trees here are so pretty - reminds me of the ones you see in Sevilla. :)

(Btw, I loved your comment about your daughter eating the krafna - so cute!)

@Krystal, oh no. take care of yourself and yes lots of tea.

@Poetess. As I'm typing this I'm drinking a cup of hot tea with lemon juice and some honey. I don't have a netti pot but I tried some nasal strips and they really helped me to sleep. it seems the congestion gets worse at night.

  14. Those trees are so gorgeous! I LOVE all your pictures (but I'm so sad to hear you're feeling sick!).
I don't have any home remedies for colds, but I do know that whenever I'm coming down with a sore throat, my mom has me gargle with whiskey. It burns SO much, and you do it twice, but I swear - I wake up the next morning feeling good as new!
    Hope you feel better! xo

  16. start the day with a glass of travarica.
(not the Badel version, but the real domaci stuff)
than repeat that every hour till the sun goes down.

ok, your liver will growing quickly, your eyes will look like you've been fighting, and waht you say is not making any sense.
but... the flu will stay away, killed by the amount of alcohol in your blood.

    cheers, pim.
